New prop

Last weekend I was at a sale and picked up this beautiful stroller/pram. It’s in wonderful condition and still had plastic on the pillow and pad. Looking forward to using it again.

Baby Reed

Yesterday I had a newborn session with 7 days new, Reed. “He is such a good baby” said mom and dad. Well, Reed proved that he was by being an angel the whole shoot. He was a squirmy little guy and he is so strong, trying to hold his head up to look around when I had him on his belly.

Here is Reed smiling for the camera.

I had Rachel Heim from IttyBitty Bluesky make this roving in creme for me. She will be offering them for sale on her Etsy page in many colors.

She also makes wonderful blankets and hats. So if you want click on her link and like her page if you like what she created for me.

As two people come together in marriage and make one.

Reed in his hospital hat that Grace and Christian brought with them to the shoot. These special items make your photographs that much more cherished.

This week I made this crown for boys and girls to wear at their photo sessions. Just darling. I have lots more that I made and I can’t wait to use them all.

Baseball fans will love this look. How special to remember that your son was once small enough to fit in your glove.

Small break to make sure that Reed stayed happy. The love in a mother’s touch, I love candid portraits from the in between shots.

Wide awake!

Comfy…

Grace and I both agreed that these colors looked really good together and with Reed.

Reed showing me his grip. He held it tight for most of the shoot.

My love for owls is influenced into my shoots often.

I love the natural color scheme of this shot. Plus he looks so peaceful.

Babies love to be swaddled.

Some images just need to be in Black and White.

I used to just sit and watch my daughter when she slept, it’s so relaxing to see a baby sleep.

I look forward to working with the Heckman family again and watching Reed grow up.

Photo Session

Starting now I want to really make it a goal to start blogging about my sessions. I would love people to know about what goes into them and also how the session went. Fingers crossed that I have enough time to do this.

Wedding Expo Weekend 2012

Wedding Expo 2012 has come to an end. That was a busy 3 days. I met so many nice people, what a great experience.
Working on my booth didn’t take that long, most of the items were found at antique stores and used as props in my studio. I painted the wall brown on the bottom and wall papered the top using embossed wallpaper and then I painted it creme and dry brushed the raised pattern brown. The vanity was a salvage from my daughter’s room. The frames on the left were old frames I got from Goodwill for $1.97 each and I painted them creme and printed out signs that said “boudoir” “portrait” “weddings”. Curtains were from in my house. I used one of my old Brownie cameras to display my sign for the giveaway in the flash head. The only brand new item was the carpet I bought at Lowes.

I woke up the morning of the show Art of the Wedding and received a text that said “it’s snowing” thinking this was a joke I looked outside and this is what I saw. OH MY! they weren’t even calling for it. It actually didn’t last long and it melted by the afternoon.

To protect the identity of this fellow vendor,(sleeping on the job, must have learned that from her intern) I blocked her identity.(lol) She could not pass up the couch, don’t blame her my feet hurt also.

My husband and co-owner of Digital Dreamer came with me everyday to help behind the scenes. He is a dedicated man and I love him for it. We stopped at the Ugly Oyster to get some food and some much needed drinks. Faye & Co also went with and we had a great time! Until I went out and found a parking ticket on my windshield. Oops, bummer

Sunday was the Stokesay Castle Bridal Fair. It was so full of soon to be brides. I had a great time meeting them. Thank you to everyone that stopped in to see me. I know it was a lot to see that day and I appreciated the time that you shared with my booth.

Art on the Avenue

Saturday June 18th was Art on the Avenue.  The weather was warm and breezy, just how you would want an out door event.  Diane of Fay & Co and I setup a booth together again.  We handed out Fans with a logo on them to keep people cool.  I also made little cameras on stands to hand out as giveaways. We really enjoyed that Hello Bluebird let us be out front of her store, that was so kind of Alex.  We are having a drawing for a free photo session and proofing for an image that will be used on an announcement.   See the link to read up more on this exciting event!!!!

On my own

I will be out on my own in 2 days! Wow I never thought I would try it again.  It feels so good to think that this time around I can do it.  I have lots of projects in the future to keep me busy.  Plus I will be able to get things done for myself and my family that I have been wanting to do for years.  Finger crossed!  June 11th marks the day of me on my own officially.  I will miss the security of my job and knowing the ins and outs of what I did for 14 years, but I keep saying to myself this has prepped me for my future.  Plus with Kevin by my side and my little Mya as my helper we will have a great team.  GO DIGITAL DREAMER!

Drake

Drake came in the studio today and he has really become a social baby.  He did so well, he even let me hold him and he laughed.  He is so expressive in his pictures, I just loved it!  Mike did well helping me with the shoot. All and all I think we all had a good time.  Plus I got to make the photos a surprise to Jamie.  I will be picking my favorites and using them as samples at the Art on the Avenue show June 18th, so if you are not doing anything please stop by my booth.  I will be sharing it with Faye & Co – Diane Zerr.  We will be located in front of Hello Bluebird.  This store is so neat if you haven’t been there please go! They have handmade items from baby to adult age.
